Book a viewingA lab grown diamond necklace sits close to the face, so it is one of the most noticed pieces you can wear. A single solitaire pendant on a fine chain is the classic choice, and lab diamonds make a larger stone easier on the budget.
Solitaire pendants
A solitaire pendant is one diamond, held in prongs or a bezel, on a thin chain. Round stones give the most sparkle. Ovals and pears look a little longer and larger for their weight. Half a carat is subtle and easy to wear daily. One carat and up is clearly visible across a table.
How it hangs
Some pendants slide freely on the chain; others are fixed in place so the stone stays centered. A fixed pendant will not drift to the side during the day. We can show you both on the same chain so you feel the difference.
Cluster and fashion pendants
A cluster pendant groups several small lab diamonds into one shape, so it reads larger than its total weight suggests. Pave shapes, like a tree, a heart or an initial, give a personal touch and make a thoughtful gift. These pendants are sold by total carat weight, written ctw.
Tennis necklaces
A tennis necklace is a full line of matched diamonds around the neck. It is a statement piece for evenings and events, and it pairs naturally with studs. As with a tennis bracelet, the stones should match in color and size all the way around, and the clasp should have a safety catch.
Choosing the chain length
- 16 inches sits at the base of the neck, close to the collarbone.
- 18 inches is the most common length and falls just below the collarbone.
- 20 inches sits lower and works well over a crew neck.
Many of our chains have an extra loop so you can wear them at two lengths. Bring the tops you wear most often if you are unsure; it helps more than measuring.
Pendants as gifts
A pendant is one of the easiest diamond gifts to get right, because there is no ring size to guess. If you are buying for someone else, look at the jewelry they already wear: fine chains or bolder ones, yellow or white metal. Tell us what you notice and we will suggest two or three pieces to compare.
Metal
We set pendants in 14k and 18k yellow, white and rose gold. White gold makes a white stone look crisp and icy. Yellow and rose gold give a softer, warmer look against the skin.
