Loose Lab Grown Diamonds in NYC

Looking for loose diamonds in NYC? Tell us the shape, carat range, color, clarity, budget and report you want. We pull three to five matching lab grown diamonds and have them on the tray for your visit to 30 West 47th Street, each with its IGI or GIA report number.

Buying a loose lab grown diamond in NYC is easier when someone has already done the sorting. Tell us what you want with the form above, and we pull three to five stones that match your brief. When you arrive at 30 West 47th Street, they are on the tray, each with its report.

How the stone request works

  1. Pick a shape, a carat range and a budget. Add color, clarity and report if you have a preference. If you do not, leave them open and we will suggest a balance.
  2. Add your name, phone and a day that suits you. We confirm the time by phone or email.
  3. We look through the stones available to us and choose the ones that look best, not only the ones with the best numbers on paper.
  4. You compare them side by side under the loupe and in daylight. Then you choose, or ask us to pull a second set.

Why we do not list thousands of stones

Online diamond lists look complete, but they hide what matters. Two stones with the same carat, color and clarity can face up very differently. One may be cut a little deep and look smaller from the top. One may have its inclusion right under the table, where you see it, and another at the edge, where a prong covers it. A short list chosen by eye saves you hours and shows you the difference in minutes.

What to ask for

Shape

Round gives the most sparkle. Oval, pear and marquise look larger for their weight. Emerald and radiant cuts show clean, long flashes. If you are unsure, ask for two shapes and we will put both on the tray.

Carat

Carat is weight, not size. A well cut 1.5 carat stone can look bigger than a poorly cut 1.7. Give us a range rather than one number, so we can show you the best stone inside it.

Color and clarity

Many people find that a G or H color and a VS clarity look the same as higher grades once set, at a lower price. Our diamond 4Cs guide explains each grade in plain words.

Report

Every stone we pull comes with an IGI or GIA grading report that states it is laboratory grown. We give you the report number so you can look it up yourself before you buy. Read more on IGI certified lab grown diamonds.

From loose stone to finished ring

Once you choose a stone, we can set it in any of our engagement ring settings, or design a custom ring around it. You can also buy the loose lab diamond on its own. Want to know what your budget buys first? See our lab grown diamond prices guide, then book a viewing.

Questions

Asked at the showroom

Why can I not see a full list of stones online?

We would rather show you a short list chosen by eye than thousands of stones you cannot tell apart on a screen. Send your request and we pull the three to five that look best within your brief.

Do the loose lab diamonds come with a report?

Yes. Every stone we pull has an IGI or GIA grading report that states it is laboratory grown. We give you the report number so you can check it yourself.

Can I buy a loose diamond without a setting?

Yes. You can buy the loose lab diamond on its own, set it in one of our engagement ring settings, or design a custom ring around it.

What if none of the stones are right?

Tell us what you liked and did not like, and we pull another set. Seeing the first tray often makes it clear what matters most to you.
