Book a viewingA halo engagement ring circles the center stone with a ring of small diamonds. The halo makes the center look larger and adds a frame of sparkle you see from across the room. Halo rings are priced from $1,640, set with a lab grown center diamond and its IGI or GIA report.
How a halo changes the look
From the top, the small diamonds blend into the edge of the center stone. A 1 carat center in a halo can look closer to 1.5 carats on the hand. That makes the halo a smart way to get a big look while keeping the center stone at a size you are comfortable with.
The halo also protects the center. The rim of metal and small stones takes the knocks before the center does, which is useful for active hands.
Halo styles to compare
- Classic halo: one row of pave diamonds that follows the shape of the center stone.
- Double halo: two rows, a bold and vintage look.
- Floating or cushion halo: a square or cushion frame around a round center.
- Color contrast: a yellow or rose gold halo around a white center, or the reverse.
The band can be plain or pave. A plain band keeps the eye on the center; a pave band adds more sparkle. At the showroom we put samples of each on your hand so you can feel the difference in a few minutes.
Shapes that suit a halo
Every shape can take a halo. A round or cushion cut in a halo is the most classic look. An oval or pear halo makes the finger look long and slim. If you like the sparkle but want a cleaner face, look at a hidden halo, where the small stones sit below the center and show from the side.
Care and matching bands
Halo rings have many small stones, so a quick check once or twice a year keeps them secure. We can look at your ring any time you are on 47th Street. Many wedding bands sit flush against a halo; some need a slight curve. Try the pairing before you decide, since the band changes the overall width.
The halo diamonds should match the center in color so the frame does not look warmer. Our 4Cs guide explains why color matters here.
Choose your center on the stone request page and we will pull three to five options for the tray. Then book a viewing and see your halo ring in daylight by the window.

Do halo rings need more care?
They have more small stones, so a quick check once or twice a year keeps them secure. We are happy to look at your ring whenever you are on 47th Street.
Will a wedding band sit flush with a halo?
Many straight bands sit flush. Some halos need a slightly curved band. Try the pairing at the showroom before you decide.
